1) SITE ID The site ID should answer the question, "What site is this?". It usually is the company logo or name, and sometimes has the company tag line too.

3) Shopping Cart It's a software written for online shoppers to keep track of their selections, and automatically updates the items chosen.

4) Meta Navigation A navigation section of a webpage which usually about the company. Sometimes, it is placed separately from the main navigation so as not to distract from the main sections, but still visible enough.

5) Main or Tier 1 Navigation This is usually the persistent navigation throughout the site and tells you what the main sections of the website are.

6) Search When a website has 20 or more pages, it is advisable to have a search feature. Users will be able to search for information they need by typing in a keyword. Some searches are not site-wide and only searches the database for a particular section of the site.

7) Sub Section or Tier 2 Navigation A sub-navigation for a particular section of a website. It is persistent only within the section it belongs to.

8) Local Navigation You can click further and get the details of a product or information you are looking for. If a webpage has long contents and different sub-sections, then clicking on the link on the local navigation takes you to that particular sub-section.

9) Page Name This the title of the page which tells the user what page they are on.

10) Content Area Must we explain this? Yes, this is the section where you find the contents.

11) Footer The bottom part of the page and may contain a disclaimer, contact information, or links to main sections.
